Eurovision 2016

Another year of Eurovision has been and gone with Ukraine winning the competition, but who are the artists who will be successful worldwide in the near future?

Here is a list of who we think will chart well in music charts around the world:

1. Frans (Sweden)
The 17 year old Frans Jeppsson Wall came 5th with his song 'If I Were Sorry'. The song is great however didn't come across as well on such a big stage (an intimate performance of the track would be much more better). The song is a guitar driven pop track which could be compared to Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself'.

We think the song will be played on nearly every radio station around the world and when his album is finished, it will be a top seller!

2. Dami Im (Australia)
After being invited to the competition in 2015, Australia were back again but this time had to sing in the Semi-Final 2 to gain access to the final. Dami Im did that and even managed to finish 2nd in the final with her song 'Sound Of Silence'.

Dami Im is known for winning The X Factor Australia on team Dannii Minogue and now after her fantastic performance, she will be taking over the world with her stunning vocals very soon. The song is already climbing most Itunes worldwide charts so this is just the beginning.

3. Donny Montell (Lithuania)
When we saw Donny Montell perform his song 'I've Been Waiting For This Night' in the second Semi-final, we knew straight away that he had to be in the final. He even included a jump from a trampoline and flipping back onto his feet.

His performance stood out with not only great vocals but also the dance moves to go with it! He finished in the top 10 at number 9.

Keep your eyes and ears open for this guy!

Poli Genova (Bulgaria)
Poli Genova represented Bulgaria this year and her song 'If Love Was A Crime' is a track that you will be hearing in the clubs this year. She performed her upbeat dance track whilst wearing a very interesting outfit which lit up.
On the night, Poli finished in 4th place.

The success of this artist will be thanks to DJs getting people on the dance floor.

Sergey Lazarev (Russia)
Sergey Lazarev was the bookies favourite to win this year's Eurovision with his song 'You Are The Only One'.  During the performance there were different images, moving walls and dance. Although being the favourite, he finished 3rd behind Australia.

The song is very catchy and the ladies are going to love him!

Barei (Spain)
Spain sent Barei to represent them this year with her upbeat dance track 'Say Yay'. The first thing that stood out with her performance had to be her foot work. This lady has the moves and super vocals to get you on your feet dancing!

Barei finished in 22nd but we feel this song will be the summer hit of 2016 in Europe!

He was a member of the very successful boy band Westlife but now Nicky Byrne is ready to show Europe (and most of the world) what he can really do as a solo artist.
This year Nicky will be representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden with his catchy pop song 'Sunlight'

Nicky will be performing at the second Semi-Finals on Thursday. Sunlight is the first song to be taken from his debut solo album which is also called 'Sunlight' which was released today!

We think Nicky has a bright future ahead of him whether there is sunlight around or not!

DNCE Mania

If you haven't already noticed, DNCE are living it up right now and the success just keeps growing and growing.
First their debut single 'Cake By The Ocean' has already gone platinum in the US and they are climbing up the UK chart after climbing to a new peak position of number 9.

As well as the single, DNCE were part of Grease Live which has been watched by millions of people worldwide, they have been touring around Europe with gigs in The Netherlands, UK, France and Germany.

The band has recently announced that they will be one of the performers at this years Billboard Music  Awards.
To finish of their success, they feature on Haliee Steinfeld's song 'Rock Bottom' and they will be going on tour with Selena Gomez.

Sean Paul and the Brits

Whenever a song has Sean Paul featured in it, you know you will be getting on the dance floor and busting some moves.

2016 has seen Sean Paul collaborate not only with one British act but two! On the 5th of February, Jay Sean released his song 'Make My Love Go' and brought in Mr Paul to add to this fantastic Dance/Pop track which managed to enter the UK Chart at number 1.

It's not only Jay Sean who has worked with Sean Paul this year, Little Mix have recently released their album track 'Hair' and called upon Sean Paul to add something different to the single. As the ladies have been touring the UK on their 'Get Weird Tour', this was the perfect time to release a new single.

All we need now is a new Sean Paul album and our year will be made!

Big In 2016 (Groups)

It took a while to choose our final 6 groups to feature in this post but here are the groups we have chosen for our Big In 2016 (Groups).

1. Chasing Midnight (United Kingdom)
We have written about these guys a lot over the last year and their cover videos are still very popular! Whether taking on Zayn Malik's 'Pillowtalk' or Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself, the talent of Chasing Midnight always comes through.
The group is always working on new songs, cover videos and entertaining things for their fans to enjoy.

We just hope the group releases a song for fans to buy soon!

2. Union J (United Kingdom)
The last couple of months have been very interesting for Union J. With the announcement of George Shelly leaving the group, Josh presenting the ChartShow Awards, Jaymi working on a performing arts school and JJ working on a film, fans can be excited to see their favourite members working on solo projects but what about Union J?
The group have announced they are working on their 3rd album and it is rumoured they will announce a new member in the next couple of months.

Their last album 'You Got It All' did not chart as high as their debut album but did showcase amazing songs and a new direction. Such songs as 'Midnight Train', 'Yolo' and 'Central Park' are stand out tracks and not to forget the two top 10 singles from the album 'Tonight (We Live Forever)' and 'You Got It All'.

We feel that 2016 will be Union J's year and its about time for them to break other international markets too!

3. Sweet California (Spain)
Sweet California are a girl group from Spain. So far they have had 2 albums and have shared stages at music festivals with such artists as The Vamps, Iggy Azalea and Union J and had a song called Wonderwoman (featured on our blog) with American Rapper Jake Miller.
After changing a member of the group, the ladies are back with a re-release of their album 'Head For The Stars 2.0' as well as a new single 'Good Lovin'.

The ladies sing in both English and Spanish and have what it takes to be international superstars.

4. Brofaction (Austria)
Brofaction is a brothers-duo from Austria. Nico (21) and Laurin (17) are not only fantastic singers but also write music and play various instruments including piano and guitar. They have been surrounded by music since they were both young and Laurin was on Team Lena on The Voice of Germany Kids.
In 2015 they released their summer feel-good song 'Back at the Playground' which in our opinion, should be the summer hit for 2016 too and have been touring around Austria and Germany to promote their music.

But it is not only Austria and Germany who get to enjoy Brofaction's talent. There are now rumours that the guys are in talks to fly to the UK to record new songs as well as perform live gigs.

Until then, be sure to get your copy of 'Back at the Playground' from iTunes and stream it on Spotify and Apple Music!

5. All Saints (United Kingdom)
For anyone who is too young to remember the song 'Never Ever', we recommend you Youtube it. Any way, that was then and now the ladies of All Saints are back with new singles, an upcoming album and a tour!!!
All Saint's first single from their upcoming album 'Red Flag' (out 8th April) is the Shaznay Lewis written 'One Strike'.
They have already performed on Alan Carr's chatty man and will be headlining their first live gig at KOKO in April. To follow this performance will be the 'Red Flag Tour' that takes place in October. During the tour they will perform some tracks from the new album as well as some of the greatest hits including 'I Know Where It's At', 'Pure Shores' and 'Black Coffee'.

There second single from 'Red Flag' is called 'One Woman Man' which is currently available on iTunes along with 'One Strike'.

6. Feurherz (Deutschland)
Someone call the fire fighters because its getting hot in here! German boy band Feuerherz have recently celebrated their 1st year as a band. The German Schlager/Pop band have been touring around Germany and Austria and enjoying the success of their single 'Verdammt Guter Tag' (Damn Good Day) and album 'Verdammt Guter Tag' as well as their multilingual Christmas single 'Merry Christmas' which was sung in German, English, Italian and Dutch.

The guys are currently on tour again and working on their second album.
